2. Purpose
The purpose of the Restaurant Group Bookings tool is to enable authorized users to create, modify and cancel restaurant group bookings at selected restaurants of Zermatt Hospitality Group.
3. Restaurant Reservation Booking Terms
- A group consists of a minimum of 10 participants. Groups of fewer than 10 participants cannot be booked through the group booking tool.
- Should the group size fall below 10 participants, a minimum charge for 10 participants will apply.
3.1 Booking Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed and binding only once it has been successfully completed through the online booking tool and a booking confirmation has been issued.
It is the user’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of the booking confirmation.
3.2 Responsibility for Bookings and Changes
The user or booking agency is responsible for managing all bookings and changes – including changes to the number of guests, menu selections, cancellations and any other amendments – directly through the online booking tool no later than 72 hours prior to arrival.
Booking, modification or cancellation requests submitted by email only are not considered automatically confirmed or processed.
After the 72-hour deadline, requests can only be submitted manually by email to [email protected]. However, Zermatt Hospitality Group cannot guarantee that such last-minute requests will be processed or implemented.
If the user fails to make changes or cancellations directly through the online booking tool within the required timeframe, the user remains responsible for the booking. Notification by email does not replace the required modification or cancellation in the online booking tool. Zermatt Hospitality Group accepts no responsibility if such requests submitted by email are not processed manually or cannot be processed in time.
4. Food Allergies, Intolerances and Dietary Requirements
All allergens are stated with the respective menus. It is the responsibility of the user to select a menu suitable for the requirements of their guests.
Any allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements must be communicated through the online booking tool no later than 72 hours prior to arrival. Requests communicated after this deadline cannot be guaranteed.
Restaurants cannot guarantee that selected menus can be adapted on site or at short notice.
5. Order Notes and Special Requests
The “Order Notes” field is available for users to provide additional information or special requests, such as seating preferences.
Zermatt Hospitality Group will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests; however, special requests cannot be guaranteed and do not form part of the confirmed booking unless explicitly confirmed by Zermatt Hospitality Group.
6. Prices and Included Services
The prices and services displayed and confirmed at the time of booking shall apply.
Only services explicitly stated in the booking confirmation are included.
Any additional food, beverages or services ordered or consumed will be charged separately.
7. No-Show and Cancellation Fees
- In case of a no-show of the entire group, 100% of the agreed services will be charged.
- If fewer guests than booked appear, the number of guests confirmed in accordance with Section 3.2 will be charged in full.
8. Payment Processing and Additional Consumptions
Full payment processing will be handled according to the separate commercial agreement in place with the respective tour operator, travel agency or contractual partner.
Additional food, beverages or other services consumed on site and not included in the confirmed booking must either be paid directly at the restaurant or invoiced to the tour operator or contractual partner, depending on the agreed payment arrangements.
9. Late Arrival
In case of a delay of more than 30 minutes, Zermatt Hospitality Group cannot guarantee that the reserved table will remain available and reserves the right to allocate the table to other guests.
In the event of a delay of more than 30 minutes, the user or group representative must contact the restaurant directly by telephone as soon as possible.
If no telephone notification is received and the reserved table can no longer be provided due to the late arrival, the applicable no-show and cancellation charges shall remain payable.
Notification of a delay does not guarantee that the restaurant will be able to hold the table beyond the reserved time.
10. Operational Changes
Zermatt Hospitality Group reserves the right to make reasonable operational changes where necessary, including changes to menus or services, provided that an appropriate equivalent alternative is offered wherever reasonably possible.
11. Technical Availability of the Booking Tool
Zermatt Hospitality Group cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of the online booking tool.
In the event of a technical failure preventing the user from creating, modifying or cancelling a booking online, the user must notify Zermatt Hospitality Group without undue delay by email at [email protected].
Where possible, the user should provide relevant booking details and information regarding the technical issue.
12. Force Majeure
Force majeure shall mean extraordinary, unforeseeable and unavoidable events beyond the reasonable control of the parties which make it objectively impossible for the group to travel to Zermatt and/or reach the booked restaurant.
Such events include, but are not limited to:
- complete disruption of train services to Zermatt;
- closure or failure of mountain lifts or cable cars required to access the booked restaurant;
- official entry bans or border closures preventing travel to Switzerland;
- government-imposed travel or access restrictions;
- natural disasters such as avalanches, landslides, floods or severe weather conditions that make travel to Zermatt or access to the restaurant impossible;
- official evacuations or closures;
- war or comparable extraordinary events, provided that they effectively make travel to Zermatt impossible.
A short-notice cancellation shall not qualify as force majeure if travel to Zermatt and access to the booked restaurant remain reasonably possible.
This also applies if the group decides not to travel or attend due to personal decisions, changes in travel plans, concerns or other circumstances while travel and access remain possible.
In such cases, the agreed cancellation and no-show conditions shall apply, and the respective services will be charged in accordance with the confirmed booking.
13. Use of Login Credentials
Users who receive login credentials may use them solely for the intended purpose of managing bookings through the online booking tool.
Login credentials must not be shared with unauthorized third parties.
In case of misuse, Zermatt Hospitality Group reserves the right to suspend or revoke access to the booking tool and, where appropriate, take further action.
